Two big issues to write to your congress people about , The Lupus Reach Amendments of 2007 have been introduced to the US House and the US Senate. If your representatives or senators have not signed on to co-sponsor this important legislation write to them and let them know why they should. Also, 10 2008 presidential candidates have the opportunity to co-sponsor this bill and none have done so yet. The second issue is the DoD’s Disease Research Congressional Earmarks. Write Your Legislators and ask them to earmark dollars for Lupus research. |

Well we have been plugging away at our Media Campaign for 12 weeks now and while the results have not been what we hoped, we remain dedicated and there is some good news. Lupus is getting some attention in the media. One Life to Live had a character briefly discuss living with Lupus and Ebony magazine will be publishing an article about Lupus in their July issue. Get involved in the fight against Lupus by participating in studies. We have added three studies to the site this month that you may be eligible to participate in no matter where in the U.S. you live. The first one is being conducted by the NIEHS. The second just involves a questionnaire being filed out online. More info can be found on our Study for Couples Living w/ Lupus page. The third study is also online and can be found on our National Databank for Rheumatic Diseases page. |
