My life has been anything but grand
Its hard for me to say
maybe I was dealt a rotten hand
Hopefully Ill understand one day.

This pain I feel
Its not in my head
It's a feeling so real
I can barely get out of bed

But it's mine to deal
It's a lesson to all
this pain that's so real
love life no matter how small.

One day your here
and the next your gone
It could be a year
or only a day long.

Treat everyday like it's your last
and love so true
Never regret the past
I'm glad its me, and not you.

I have it, it's inside
tearing me apart
destroying my pride
Its so smart.

You cant see it
It's me attacking me.
How could that be
Me attacking me?

It has a name
Its lupus they say
a name less heard
But I hear it every day

There is no cure
treat the symptoms is what they do
Meanwhile I suffer
I'm glad it's me, and not you...
