It's always sad to hear of someone's passing, but it really touches the heart when it's a lupie. My mother died when she was 37 due to renal failure from Lupus. Her sister died a few years later due to liver problems caused my Lupus. I now have had Lupus several years and have problems all over. I have several cousin with it and we all cope through Lupus Foundation Society of America and it's fellow orgs. My maternal Grandmother, her sister & daughter and I are in a genetic research group to see what and how and hope someday changes will be made for the better. I had surgery last week on my ankle and foot. I am also currently having a Lupus flare-up, I'm sure the stress and pain from surgery have contributed to this. I encourage everyone to become a member of the Lupus Society. About a month after my Mother died, I rcvd a donation request from Lupus Foundation in Knoxville TN to donate to them. I set down and wrote a vicious letter asking them why I should do anything since they never helped my Mom or our family, this was in 1982. I reread my letter several times before deciding not to send it. I realized my err in thinking it was all about me and my family and how they really were working on answers, it just didn't come in time to help my Mom. Since then, I give annually now. I have two daughters of my own. They are 22 & 25. One is ANA positive with the speckled pattern. God be with her, no problems. I too now have a granddaughter, age 1. Since 1982 the foundation has come so far and I am so glad they are there for everyone. I hope you all are well and having a good week. .......T I N A
