Kim's Story

Hi my name is Kim I am 35 years old and have been living with lupus for 7 years. When I was 28 years old I began to feel sleepy all the time and could not remember things , and felt aches all over. I thought this was strange being that I am a pro tennis teacher and was in great shape, I have two kids and at the time my son was 5 and my daughter 3 so I just couldn't physically understand what was going on, so I went to the doctor thinking I had chronic fatigue, well I was wrong my ANA test came back positive and so the tests began. I have to go back a few years when I was pregnant with both my kids I had terrible pregnancies in bed for 6 months on a brethien pump and they both came early anyway than I had miscarriage after miscarriage so time to tie the tubes. Now being in my mid 20s at the time my kids were born ,Being a pro athlete and in great physical shape none of this made since. So after about a year of being a pin cushion and glowing from x-rays and MRIs they determined that I am in a fight with a disease called lupus. Now I have never heard of Lupus so to my surprise I had a battle for my life ahead of me. Now 7 years later and tons of drugs I have come to terms with my disease and fight it daily, it will and cannot beat me I will do everything in my power to find a cure. I have a daughter so she has a chance at getting this horrible disease. I went from a pro tennis teacher to a pro sleeper. We can find a cure. Thank you for listening have a great day.
